If I wanted to go out with my friends on a Friday or Saturday night when I was 15, he would give me £4, but we were going to the pub – obviously he didn’t know we were going to the pub – and £4 wasn’t enough. So I used to steal money, or I would steal things from shops and sell them to friends. Today, I do still save money and I don’t like to spend a lot. I don’t really like throwing things away but I think that’s also as much to do with losing my mother when I was little and having a great fear of loss. That’s why I tend to hoard things.
