They use it intuitively, but we have a responsibility to show them how to unlock its potential,” says Hilary French, headmistress of Central Newcastle High School and chairman of the Girls’ School Association. “Technological devices today are as essential a piece of equipment as a slide rule and a pencil case.” Tablets, says French, are used throughout the school, from three-year-olds in the nursery to the sixth form.
